    Item Feedback:

WhatsApp is a multi-platform mobile messaging app that allows you to exchange messages, send / receive photos, make calls and video calls totally free. Whatsapp is a messaging app compatible with almost all mobile operating systems on the market such as iOS (iPhone), Android which are the most popular ones.

The biggest nightmare of those who use this app is to suddenly lose or delete important chats, with their attachments (photos, videos, etc. ..). And unfortunately this scenario is not very unlikely: just a wrong click or a device malfunction that one or more chats can be removed from the device.

What to do if you have deleted chats from Whatsapp and do not have a recent backup? How to recover deleted Whatsapp conversations from mobile? How to restore data on Whatsapp, if you have an iOS or Android phone?

Below we will try to give a concrete answer to all these questions and to recover Whatsappd chat from Mobile (even in the absence of backup!). We will divide the guide into two parts, based on the type of mobile phone you have (iPhone or Android) because obviously based on this it is necessary to use the compatible software.

    A) Recover Whatsapp Chat on Android (Samsung, LG, Huawei, Xiaomi, HTC, etc ...)

    B) Recover Whatsapp Chat on iPhone

How to Recover Whatsapp Chat on Android

If you have a mobile phone with Android operating system and you have deleted some chats on Whatsapp, the first thing to do is to try to check if you have a backup agolable (done on Google Drive or on the mobile itself). This official Whatsapp page describes all the possible scenarios for restoring Android chats from a backup (cloud or local).

If you don't have a backup though, the only way to try is recover whatsapp chat from android mobile is to do a scan with FoneLab per Android. It is a software (to be installed on the PC) and which is able to access the internal memory of the mobile phone to search for any messages and Whatsapp attachments that are still recoverable.

Step 1. Install Fonelab for Android and connect your mobile to PC

You can download FoneLab on your computer from the links below:

Download FoneLab per Android sul tuo PC Windows o Mac:

After installing and opening the software (on Windows) you will see this main screen:

Click on the link below FREE TRIAL to continue using the demo version of the software. Here is the initial interface of the program:

Among the 3 functions agolable in the program click on "Android Data Recovery"And the following interface will open:

Now use a USB cable to connect your Android phone (eg Samsung) to the computer and have the computer detect it (read how below).

Step 2: Enable USB Debugging mode

For your mobile phone to be detected by the computer, the option "Debug".

Usually, to activate this "USB debugging" you need to go to "Settings" <Click "Phone Info" <then click on "Build Number" several times until "You are in developer mode" appears. At this point go back to "Settings" <click "Developer Options" and select "Debug USB'

    Step 3: Start memory scan

Once the mobile phone is put in USB Debug mode and the program detects it, you can choose the data to search in the memory. In our case you can only select the box "Whatsapp Messages & Attachments"

Click on NEXT to start scanning. Also check the screen of your Android device because a window may appear asking you to "authorize" the app to access the phone's memory or to activate the "root" permissions on the phone.

If FoneLab fails to root your device you can still proceed with the scan. However, if that scan does not produce the desired results you will have to try to find other ways to enable root permissions and then redo the scan with FoneLab.

At the end of the scan you will see a screen like the one pictured below. On the left all the categories of data and in the center the details. Left click on "Whatsapp"Or"Whatsapp Attachment”To see the chat whatsapp found in the phone memory. Those chats that have been deleted but are still recoverable will appear in red.

Choose the chats to recover and finally click on the "Recover”At the bottom right to save.

How to Recover Whatsapp Chat on iPhone

If you have an iPhone and have deleted the Whatsapp chats, you could try to recover them from a possible backup made on iTunes or iCloud. If not even these backups are present then you will have to rely on FoneLab per iOS. Download the free demo version of Fonelab iOS, on your Windows PC or Mac from the following links:

The demo version of the program allows you to understand if the Whatsapp chats you are looking for are still recoverable.

From the main program screen click on iPhone Data Recovery to access the data recovery function from iOS devices.

In the new window that opens, you can choose between 3 recovery modes: "direct" from the iPhone / iPad memory or via backup iTunes o iCloud (if present). If you don't have backups agolable you will need to choose the first mode.

Then connect the iPhone to the computer via USB and click on STARTS to begin scanning the device memory.

At the end of the scan, all Whatsapp messages will be shown in the program window (in the Whatsapp or Whatsapp Attachments category):

To save all the messages found, just click on the "RECOVER ". Saving is only possible after purchasing the full program license.

    Great guide.
In my case I was looking for a solution not to recover deleted chats but to restore chats on the mobile phone (from a backup made previously).
However, I found what I needed in this other article: https://www.softstore.it/ripristinare-chat-whatsapp/
    Thank you!
